The Center for Tax and Budget Accountability was formed in 2000 to be a bipartisan, nonprofit research, and advocacy think tank that works across ideological lines to promote social and economic justice for everyone, from traditionally disadvantaged populations to the middle-class.
How the Partnership Works
Illinois ASBO is a sponsor of the annual CTBA symposium. This partnership was crucial in the creation of the Evidence-Based Funding Model and continues to draw attention to revenue solutions for the State of Illinois as well as analysis and recommendations for solving ongoing issues such as the unfunded pension liability.
Benefit to Illinois ASBO Members
Illinois ASBO and the CTBA have partnered to provide professional development to Illinois ASBO members. Ralph Martire, the CTBA Executive Director, has spoken at many Illinois ASBO conferences and written articles for the UPDATE Magazine on Illinois fiscal policy.
